Weve made composing and score publishing easier and faster than ever with QuickScore Elite Level II 8.0. Weve broken new ground in converting written articulation marks and dynamics to playable trills, accents and volume changes. Weve made working in conjunction with our latest Copyist version 5.0 better and more seamless than ever. And weve paid attention to what youve been asking for in printed output, score display and long filenames to mention just a few of the new features youll see in this new release of the software that Electronic Musician named its Editors Choice for notation software in 1998 (again!).
Now you can attach any of a complete set of articulation marks directly to notes. This means that when a note is transposed, moved in time or deleted, the articulation mark associated with the note is transposed, moved or deleted along with the note. When note stems are flipped, the display of the articulation marks automatically changes position to reflect the new stem direction. And best of all, all articulation marks which youve attached to notes automatically play just as they are written.
Now any dynamic marking you enter in the Score Editor, including all dynamic marks from the Dynamics palette, crescendo and decrescendo marks from the Adjustable palette and dynamic indications entered as text, can be converted in a single operation to accurate volume controller changes. This means they will play just the way you wrote them without having to set a single volume controller yourself!
This alone makes the upgrade worth it. Save any QuickScore file using QuickScore Elite Level II 8.0 as a Copyist file and load it into Copyist 5.0. Its all there, including lyrics which behave like real lyrics, chord symbols that look just the way you expect and guitar grids, figured bass and tempo symbols that look and behave the way they did in QuickScore, not to mention all your barlines, repeats and other symbols from the Mozart and the custom symbol palettes.
Printed ledger lines and tenuto marks are now darker than regular staff lines and barlines. In addition, staff lines and barlines retain a minimum thickness, regardless of the resolution of your printer. This means that when printing with 1200 and 2400 dpi or greater resolution printers and typesetters, staff lines do not become excessively thin.
Printing on 11 x 17 paper as well as larger formats is now supported.
Weve added left and right-sided triangles to the list of noteheads that can be set. This give you the complete set required for shaped note choral arranging.
If youre using Windows 95, Windows 98 or Windows NT, you expect to be able to use long filenames. Well, now youve got them.
There are still a lot of digital pianos and drum machines out there that accept only type 0 MIDI files. Now you can accommodate all these instruments when creating MIDI files with QuickScore Elite.
Now track names are displayed in the left margin at all times. No more constantly checking to make sure which track is which whenever you want to make a quick check or perform an edit.
Weve added a bunch of new commands to the Song Editor and the Score edit menus. Transpose, change rhythms, do time dilations and set dynamics in a single track, several tracks or all tracks at once, in a single operation!
