Weve made composing and score publishing easier and faster than ever with QuickScore Elite Level II 9.0. Weve made working in conjunction with our latest Copyist version 6.0 better and more seamless than ever. And weve paid attention to what youve been asking for in printed output, score display and ease of editing to mention just a few of the new features youll see in this new release of the software that Electronic Musician named its Editors Choice for notation software in 1998 (again!).
We've added Page Edit view. Now edit your score while looking at the full page.
The Space Music dialog now lets you choose the number of pages you want for your score. All the spacing chores are handled automatically so that you get the right number.
Now the Display Bar and Display Track dialogs stay active until you're finished with them. Do all your formatting in one step and watch your changes take effect as you make them.
Work secure in the knowledge that you can go back at any time as far as you want if you don't like the changes you've made.
With the new EZ Template you can build complex scores in seconds. Or choose from more than 20 custom templates, most of which are new.
Now any tempo marking you enter in the Score Editor can be converted in a single operation to accurate tempo changes. This means they will play just the way you wrote them without having to set a single tempo change yourself!
Now set pickup bars in one step. And put cadenza bars wherever you want them in your piece, also in one easy step.
Now you can export vector-based .EMF files that scale easily while retaining their clarity and sharpness. Staff lines and stems look right no matter how much you stretch or contract your exported scores.
Now when you export to Copyist your full score is preserved. Pages with more than 16 staves come across perfectly.
Read NIFF files, created by music scanning programs. Read and write Guido files, standard music notation interchange files.
You can now choose the weight of staff lines, stems and bar lines to give your scores a heavier or a lighter feel.
Scroll buttons now scroll the display a single pixel at a time.
We've added alternating right/left page numbers to the Page Numbers dialog. And now the beat is automatically set when you change the time signature. Of course you can still set it yourself if you need something unusual.
Now slurs are easier than ever to line up with notes and they look better too, since they keep their curve based on their overall direction.
Now slurs and other adjustable symbols aren't limited by line and page breaks.
Tied chords now have the outside notes tied in the opposite direction by default. And notes tied over from before the time of the beginning of the display are now shown. Not to mention that all chord name fonts scale evenly when making chord names bigger or smaller
We've expanded the number of chord names and figured bass symbols to 2000 each so you'll never run out. And now you have space for 16000 lyrics (as if you'll ever need it). Not to mention tracks that now allow 32000 events (read unlimited for all practical purposes).
Since QuickScore Elite Level II 9.0 is a 32 bit program, you get all the bells and whistles that the latest versions of Windows have to offer. And that includes big new Open and Save File dialogs.
You could always do this with the Tab key in the Score Editor, but now you can do it from the Edit menu from any editor.
Now when you insert or cut space in the Song Editor or directly from the Edit menu, your formatting moves right along with the music.
We've added icons to the status line for each window so now you can get to them with a single click.
Now you can quickly do key transpositions for all standard transposing instruments by simply selecting the instrument's name in the Track Sheet's Key Transposition field. No more having to remember how many semitones up or down each instrument is written!
Now you can choose to display cut time as 2/2 and common time as 4/4 as well as with the standard cut and common time signatures.
We've added a bunch of stuff here. For example, now you can set standard durations quickly from a submenu when editing durations instead of typing numbers into a dialog. And we've allowed you to use the ‘.’, ‘0’,’2’ keys for setting the duration to dotted, whole and half notes so that all durations can be reached easily from the keypad. Not to mention letting you know which fraction of the beat the cursor or the mouse is on in the main control area cursor time indicator and in the Score Editor mouse time indicator.
